Accent Modification Training for Expat Professionals
ABOUT
Jazmine Tylor
MA; MS, CCC-SLP
As an Accent/Speech Trainer, Jazmine is dedicated to helping her clients enhance their American English pronunciation to achieve their speech communication goals.

The vision for Culture Crossroads originated from a desire to facilitate the cultural adjustment of expatriates moving to the U.S. At the outset, our services were focused on Intercultural Coaching.
As Jazmine’s career advanced, she recognized a chance to broaden our services by incorporating Accent Modification. After attending a presentation where a TEFL instructor and a speech therapist collaborated on accent modification training, she was inspired to pursue a career as a speech-language pathologist to gain deeper insight and provide more comprehensive support for individuals with communication challenges.

While Jazmine is a speech-language pathologist, Culture Crossroads does not offer speech therapy services. Jazmine’s training as a speech therapist has been extremely valuable in developing assessment and diagnostic skills and creating effective training programs. As an accent trainer, Jazmine applies her clinical “lens” in a non-clinical setting.

Jazmine's background includes intercultural coaching and U.S. visa and immigration advising for professionals across various fields, including academia, law, business, healthcare, and medical research. In this capacity Jazmine has worked with individuals from more than 25 countries, including Italy, Japan, USA, China, South Korea, England, Australia, France, Mexico, Brazil, India, and Turkey.
The highlight of Jazmine's 15+ year career in intercultural relations was her work with foreign national graduate and professional students, scholars, and their spouses in international higher education administration.

Jazmine combines her passion and expertise in intercultural relations with her skills as a speech-language pathologist, uniquely positioning her to understand and address the communication needs of non-native English-speaking professionals.

In her personal life, Jazmine is a global citizen inspired by her experiences traveling abroad. She has firsthand knowledge of the challenges and rewards of becoming an effective communicator while living, working, and studying in a non-native language and country.

Jazmine holds a Master of Science in Speech Language Pathology from California State University East Bay, a Master of Arts in Intercultural Relations from Lesley University, and a Bachelor of Arts from Pennsylvania State University.

Additional certifications include Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, Compton Pronouncing English as a Second Language (P-ESL) Certification from the Institute of Language and Phonology, Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (CTESOL) from Transworld Schools, and Professional Coaching Certification (PCC) from New Ventures West.

In her spare time, Jazmine enjoys a good Netflix series, experiencing new cultures through international travel, silent meditation retreats, and spending time with family and friends.
